INTRO TO HOUSE WORKSHOP

House dance has a storied history dating back to the 1980s Chicago and New York underground club scene. Still underground but sliding into mainstream hip hop today, House dance is characterized by bouncy fluid body movements (like jacking and lofting), blending influences from Breakdancing, African, and Latin dance. House dancers are amazing to watch. Their magnetism is off the charts -partly because of the sensuality of this sub-genre of hip hop. The fact that you can learn how to do this is priceless!

This four-week House Foundations Workshop introduces you to the fundamentals of House dance through groove, footwork, musicality, and freestyle. The program culminates in a choreography combo during the final class that integrates core steps learned throughout the workshop.

No prior House experience required.
