Cat is originally from Cali, Colombia- widely known as the salsa capital of the world. She began her dance training at just five years old, starting with ballet and later studying jazz under a Brazilian instructor whose annual productions were held at the city’s Municipal Theater were Cat regularly performed.

At 18 she launched her professional dance career as a company dancer in a weekly show featuring tango and Colombian folkloric ensembles. She also trained with the Zumba creator Alberto Perez and performed as a backup dancer for well-known Colombian artists. At the same time she studied the Alicia Alonso Cuban Contemporary technique under a Cuban Maestra and performed for her as well.

Cat later moved to the United States to pursue a dance degree studying in Pennsylvania and Miami where she refined her ballet and jazz technique. She became a certified Zumba instructor and taught for several years before transitioning into her career as an attorney.

Despite her professional shift, Cat’s passion for dance has remained constant. She continues to train and now brings a fresh, accessible approach to Latin dance-creating a space where anyone can learn to enjoy Latin rhythms; no partner required.
