Lauren Banks graduated from Kennesaw State University suma cum laude with a B.S. in Communication and a Minor in dance. Upon graduating, Lauren began performing with Young Audiences at the Woodruff Arts Center and later the Atlanta-based contemporary dance companies Gathering Wild and Ellisorous Rex and the Dance Machine. She is a featured dancer/actress in a Home Depot and Lifetime Original Series Devious Maids commercial and has worked as a freelance dancer for a number of prominent Atlanta choreographers (Bubba Carr, Emily Christianson, Corian Ellisor, and Jerylann Warner) for over 10 years.
As an instructor, Lauren has taught across the Southeast for over 12 years in a variety of environments such as churches, preschools, elementary schools, along with studios focused on dance. Lauren is thrilled to have found her dance home in 2 studios: Dance101atlanta, where she teaches ballet, ballet fitness, contemporary, and stretch classes to adults; and Georgia Dance Conservatory, where she is the School Director and teaches ballet to dancers 2 to 7 year olds. Lauren is also a budding choreographer and has recently been selected to share work on a local Atlanta stage in Skhwirlhaus, a national festival in Ladyfest, and an international showcase in RAW Artists. Lauren is so grateful for all of the opportunities dance has brought her and is most excited about sharing her love of dance.
