I think musical theatre dance is such a special genre as it involves so many different styles and it really calls on students to bring their authentic selves and their creativity to the movement. I think what makes Dance 101 so special is that it fosters that authenticity in each student and supports the idea that anyone and everyone CAN dance (if they want to).

I’m very fortunate to have danced professionally for over 15 years which has included Broadway, multiple national tours and one international tour that went to Japan. I started dancing when I was 4 years old, but I was soon more interested in joining Boy Scouts and soccer and didn’t dance again until I was in High School, funny enough. Knowing that I had some major catching up to do, I became a sponge in college for anything dance related and was actually one credit shy of a dance minor and didn’t know it until it was too late!

What gives me the most joy teaching at Dance 101 is the incredible students from ALL walks of life and how they connect with the movement I create for them. It’s a beautiful “come as you are” studio which you don’t see in a lot of other studios. I have taught and worked at A LOT of studios where it’s so competitive or only focus on technique - which is only part of the performance puzzle. Dance 101 is a special community led by joy, love and support, that hires teachers who instruct and inspire the joy of dance in their students.. I love my new Dance 101 family and my amazing students!
