Studio Director

Timothy Meyers

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Timothy started his dance career at Emory University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Music, and has been dancing professionally for almost 20 years. After touring internationally as a dance captain for "Up With People", Timothy moved to Los Angeles to continue his training at the EDGE Performing Arts Center, where he had the opportunity to work with some of the nation's top choreographers.  With intense training in Ballet, Jazz, and Hip Hop, Timothy returned to Atlanta in 1995.  He has performed internationally in numerous dance concerts and industrials, including work for Coca-Cola, GMC Truck, Home Depot, Reebok, Palmer Rox, and the NBA on TNT.  Choreography credits include "A Passion To Dance", the HRC National Banquet, Joining Hearts, and choreographer for the Miss Georgia Competition. Timothy has worked with the Atlanta Hawks Dance Team and the Georgia Force Cheerleaders, and has served on the faculty for the Dancemasters of America national convention.

As Dance 101's Studio Director, Tim was voted unanimously by fellow staff members as  MVP (Most Valuable Player) for 2007.  We, in fact, presented him with a football helmet in honor of this recognition - however he refuses to wear it (can't imagine why).  Tim is an exceptionally talented choreographer, superb teacher, amazing dancer AND he's good with numbers.  He knows how to manage and motivate, has great problem solving skills, but is terrible at killing bugs.  Tim is the most versatile teacher on staff (he can pinch hit (sub) for just about any of us) with only one exception: he can't teach bellydance. Tap is a stretch for him, but he can fake it - if pressed.  Tim's dedication to the studio and to our students can only be measured in terms of his popularity both in the classroom as well as at the front desk.  A corporate drop out, Tim is dancing his way through his "9 to 5" with tremendous appreciation:  "I am the luckiest person in the world to have this job" he is often heard to say.  No, Tim, WE are the luckiest to have YOU!
