(ALPHARETTA) dance 101: The Culture of Cool

Dear Dancers, Artistic Athletes and Dreamers!

Gotcha! Like how I did that? Nothing like a catchy subject line to trick you into reading what I really want to talk about... which is commitment (un-catchy subject line): a word that triggers avoidance in some people. Not ya'll though, because as dancers we live the fruits of commitment. That's how we've become the dancers that we are. Sorry, there's no dance gene, no pill, no program to download. Dancers are made. And they're made from the inside out - the greatest among them leaping from their hearts... which is the grandest jete of them all.

I believe commitment is the single most powerful concept that governs the quality of our lives. Truth is: whatever we are committed to constructs the fabric of our lives. If you take inventory of everything that makes up your reality, sure enough it's everything (good and bad) you've committed to having. It's so simple. And yet, so hard at times. And tricky! Commitment is constantly happening - even in avoidance of it - because if you avoid commitment your are inescapably committing to avoidance. As they say, indecisiveness is a decision. There is no thing as doing nothing, as the act of doing nothing is doing something. Where am I going with this? You wonder. (Ok I'm wondering too, I think I'm spiraling off the subject....). Anyway...

While Spring break for most of you ended yesterday, we now have the upcoming Easter holiday to get ready for. And for me that means, where my peeps at? Cheesy or not, you know you laughed #punsarefun

Speaking of Spring Break, yay all the teachers are back this week! David returns in BpM tomorrow so expect him fully refreshed and ready to make you dance till you bleed... ok, maybe not bleed, actually you know what, definitely do not bleed #ew. Shana returns to her Wednesday AM post (more details below) and Jared is back in both of his classes (tomorrow King of Hearts at 6pm & Saturday's J-Roc at 11:30am). The gang is all here, they're just waiting on you and your peeps. #sorrynotsorry

Remember that time a portion of the highway crumbled in a terrifying fire? Well, based on the size of classes the past few days, it would appear most of you didn't even notice #dancejunkies

Sadly though 85 wasn't the only thing to crumble... our own Mannequin champ, B. McGee lost her leg in a pair of very tight yoga pants... girl's circulation done been cut off. No worries though, I got with her earlier today to show me some poses so that I could accurately show off our latest Alo apparel! And it gets better... current 101 brand and past season Alo is now discounted 50% off... be the best dressed in class. #getitgirl
