Catherine brings over twenty-five years of experience as an educator into her dance classes, and delights in making the joys of movement accessible to people of all ages and abilities. Originally trained as a ballet dancer in Houston, Catherine left the dance world after a serious injury, and did not dance again for twenty years. In 2010 she began taking adult jazz and ballet at Dance 101. In only a few years time she had discovered profound changes in her ability to process information and follow patterns, not just in class, but in everyday life as well. She sought out classes
and workshops in all types of dance styles, and developed a passion for the potential of dance as more than a performing art. Fascinated by its potential as a tool for healing, she pursued studies and experiences under experts in movement therapies, with an emphasis on repatterning the brain through dance. Catherine is a level 1 & 2 Elemental Body Alignment System (EBAS) instructor, and has completed the teacher training course for MindLeaps in preparation to teach dance as a bridge to formal education in post conflict nations. Occasionally she performs as a guest artist, primarily in the Atlanta area.
